Binder Memorial Award

Jon Binder, who lettered as a walk-on in 1987, died of Hodgkin’s disease on September 1, 1991. A native of Temperance, MI, and a graduate of Bedford High School, Binder drew praise from the UT coaches for his dedication and determination. Established the year of his death, the Binder Memorial Award is given to the walk-on player who exemplifes the courage, character, heart and spirit of Jon Binder in both the classroom and on the feld.
