Game Notes

Weather at Kickof: 72 degrees, partly cloudy, winds WNW 3 mph.

• Toledo went toe-to-toe against heavily favored Ohio State but came up just short when a Terrance Owens pass intended for Kenny Staford on 4th-and-5 late in the game fell incomplete.

• Toledo’s defense gave a heroic efort, allowing just 301 yards of total ofense and 112 yards rushing. Senior CB Taikwon Paige had seven tackles, as did junior LB Robert Bell. Senior LB Terrell Anderson had fve takles and one tackle for loss subbing for the injured Dan Molls.

• Junior WR Eric Page lived up to his billing as a big-time playmaker, scoring on pass plays of six and 66 yards. For the game, he caught 12 passes for 145 yards. He also had a kickof return of 42 yards and threw for a two-point conversion in the frst quarter.
